Our School at a Glance

The Silver Dragon Martial Arts Academy has been teaching in south east Kentucky since 2000.  We teach a mix of Kung-fu and Western Empirical Combat Arts.  We have several permanent studios in Manchester, Beattyville, and Jackson as well as several temporary classes through out the area.  We teach classes to groups, individuals, businesses and schools.  Honor, Loyalty, Knowledge, and Service are the ideas that we strive to instill in our students.

Our goal is to create an atomosphere that is fun, friendly and enjoyable but at the same time promotes "martial learning".  We welcome students of all ages, and have taught all ages in the past.  Students are given direction on the path that they take but are not limited to one "mold" or another.  Some students may do better at sparring, some may do better at "UFC style" fighting, some may do better at forms, some at weapons, etc, these are all legitamite paths of study within our school.  Our goal then is to help students become strong so that they can reach their dreams and goals during their every day life, so that they can become better people.  We keep the quality of teaching high and cost low. 

What We Teach?

We teach a mix of Hsing Yi Kung-fu, European Combatives, Chen Tai Chi, Chi-kung, Modern Weapons, some traditional weapons, Anti-Bully, Personal Protection, and Self-Defense.  We are not limited to by any organization or group and do not claim any particular lineage.  This helps us because we can use empirical reasoning to test out any move before we teach it.  You can click HERE to see a listing of our full curriculum.
